Continuing to believe the same principle in regards to diversity and inclusion resulting transformational change, Google Developer Group Philippines is starting off 2019 with Women Techmakers Manila on its seventh phenomenal year! WTM Manila is annually conducted since 2013 as GDG Philippines wants to highlight that gender is never a barrier to success in contributing something for the advancement of science and technology — that gender is a weapon of inspiration when empowered by each and every one.

WTM 2018 let attendees experience and be inspired by women in tech — 63% of the attendees are women. The event is not limited to only women in the technology industry but also open to those interested in learning Google technologies and hearing stories of goals turned into reality.

This year, the group aims to gather 300 Filipina together. In this light, we want to invite you to celebrate the women’s month with GDG Philippines as we give the spotlight to some of the many Filipinas in the tech industry this coming March 30, 2019 (8AM-5PM) at The Globe Tower, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

Aside from the series of talks which will happen in the WTM, we’re also bringing you this year’s first Cloud Study Jams! With this study jam, attendees get to have $55+ worth of Qwiklabs access and learn the fundamental tools and capabilities of Google Cloud. Google Cloud badges will also be earned after the session!

HAIL THE MASTERS!

Launching of Android Masters 2019 will also be held during Women Techmakers. Android Masters is an inter-school Android app development challenge that aims senior high school to college students across the Philippines. The main objective of the initiative is to encourage students to develop creative app ideas and publish it to Google Play Store.

More information about the competition will be further discussed during WTM 2019.
